Ashley Walters is known for conducting standard orchestral repertoire, demanding contemporary works, and premiering new pieces.

Walters currently serves as the conductor of the Ventura College Symphony Orchestra and the Ventura College Chamber Orchestra.

As the Music Director of the Schwab Academy of Music, Walters oversees a three-week festival devoted to orchestral studies and chamber music in Ventura, CA. There she directs nine concerts during the festival, including presenting the finals of the Henry and Miriam Schwab Violin & Viola Competition.

As a faculty member at the Nief-Norf Summer Festival in Knoxville, TN, Walters conducts contemporary works and world premieres each summer. She has also worked with Brightwork newmusic in a performance of Steve Reich’s Double Sextet and with ensembles in Los Angeles.
