Joint Release Party and Concert with Nicholas Deyoe

Composer Nicholas Deyoe and cellist Ashley Walters celebrate the release of their new albums 'For Duane' and 'Sweet Anxiety,' out Oct. 20 on Populist Records. This FREE concert features selected music from both albums, played by some of LA's most exciting performers. Local wizards Solarc Brewing are creating a special beer just for the occasion. There will also be cupcakes and other tasty items (some of which will be Vegan/Gluten Free).


7pm - Doors Open. Come early to enjoy a beer before the show!
8pm - Music
9pm - Post concert time to hang out with the musicians, pick up albums, and enjoy more Solarc!


Program includes music by Nicholas Deyoe, Wolfgang von Schweinitz, Wadada Leo Smith, and a reading by Allison Carter performed by Ashley Walters and Nicholas Deyoe with Stephanie Aston, Matt Barbier, Rachel Beetz, Dustin Donahue, Batya MacAdam-Somer, Andrew McIntosh, Adrianne Pope, Andrew Tholl, and Scott Worthington.

Smith's Golden Quintet performs America's National Parks and presents guest lectures during the two-day residency. Walters presentation, Performer-Composer Collaborations in the 21st Century, will discuss the collaboration between cellist Rohan de Saram and composer Luciano Berio as a jumping off point for her own collaborations and projects. This seminar will include conversations about notation, interpretation, and extended techniques for the cello, as well as a brief performance.
